Saltwater will be bidding on the upcoming California Observer Program based out of Long Beach, California. Work could start as early as this summer or fall. We will have the need for observers, coordinators (logistics and data) and a Project Manager.
California Project Manager Saltwater is looking for full-time, Long Beach-based Program Manager (PM). The PM will be Saltwater’s principal liaison and will be responsible for: • Overall responsibility of all aspects of performance on the contract • Organizing and controlling the contracted service • Work closely with NOAA contracting officer and Southwest Region COTR • Communications with the Anchorage office • Communicate with NMFS staff and OLE • Ensure coverage goals are met • Bid Task Orders • Supervise observer coordinators and other CA staff The PM must have strong people skills, excellent communication skills, detail-oriented organizational skills, basic computer skills (Excel, Word, and internet use), and be able to multi-task in a fluid environment. Requirements • Experience in the scientific environment with emphasis on commercial fisheries management and observer deployments • Personal management • A minimum of three (3) years in the field most directly applicable to the West Coast California observer program. At least two (2) years experience in managing such tasks is required. • A Bachelor’s degree or higher related to the contract for example, fisheries, Natural Science, Biology, etc. Salary range is DOE and includes benefits.
