The Winter (2006/2007) Mail Buoy has Arrived
Hello Observers and Observer-related Folk,
The Winter 2006/2007 Mail Buoy has finally hit the streets and the high seas! This edition has shaped up with some really interesting material, with topics ranging from: the NOP funded observers for the 2007 International Fisheries Observer Conference (IFOC); the APO announcement and selection instructions for Housing for six observers who plan to participate at the IFOC; a profile of one experienced observer who keeps observing "Exciting;" troubled stocks in the Mediterranean Sea; the need for mandatory observer coverage in the Antarctic Krill Fishery; some very informative US regional updates; a few intriguing opinion commentaries, where contributors give us their personal spin on the observing profession; and a brief update of the 2006 APO Board meeting. Enjoy! All prior Mail Buoy newsletters can be found on the APO website (www.apo-observers.org), and this edition will soon be uploaded on to the site. Please, feel free to print copies and/or forward to observers and any other interested parties. And, please contact us with comments or if you know of others who wish to receive our newsletter or would like to be removed from our mailing list. Best Regards, Keith Davis, Liz Mitchell, and Paul Wilkins The Mail Buoy Editorial Staff apo@apo-observer.org Association for Professional Observers P.O.
